Who are Caithness Glass?
Caithness Glass began in 1961 by Rob Sinclair. At first, they only made bowls, vases
and drinking glasses. It wasn't until Paul Ysart joined a year later that the glass paperweight became part of their repertoire. His unique designs added another layer to the Caithness brand, and when Colin Terris joined to head the new Design and Engraving studio in 1968, paperweight production took off, a Royal Warrant was acquired, and Caithness solidified itself as a world leader in the production of these gorgeous collectibles. With a growing team of artists and designers, Caithness has developed a worldwide following of dedicated collectors.
